I'm just an ordinary girl who grew up in the Chicago suburbs and spent most of my adult life in the Colorado ski town of Breckenridge

Because I lived in a seasonal environment, I have had the opportunity to leave the country during the off-seasons when everything gets quiet.  Since beginning to travel the globe in 2006, I have always incorporated a volunteer project.

Twenty three countries and six continents later, I have seen first-hand how the developing world lives, and I have made it my mission to change that.  I have the privilege of being American, so if I can use that power to help others... than by-all-means!

Some past projects include:
  • Soft Power Education, Uganda, 2006
  • Inti Wara Yassi Wildlife Refuge, Bolivia 2009
  • Teacher at Santa Maria School, Bolivia, 2009
  • Annapurna Self-Sustaining Orphan Home, Nepal, 2011-2012
  • Made family self-sustained, Nepal, 2011
  • Successful completion of Koshi Tappu Primary School, Nepal, 2012

I recently completed a Master's Degree in Secondary Education.  At the moment, I am living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  I teach English Literature and Composition at The American School of Vietnam.  I am also the Community Service Committee Chairperson and run a joint program between UNICEF and our students here in Ho Chi Minh City.  We are always on the look-out for local projects to get our hands on!

I haven't forgotten my philanthropic roots in Nepal though.   From here, I can remotely projects-manage my Koshi Tappu School Project in Nepal.  I have on-site managers whom I am in frequent contact with.  There are no current projects I am undertaking at the moment, but the best part of being a teacher is that I can implement future projects over my 2-month summer holiday!

Let it be known, that everything I have done for Global Orphan Prevention is 100% voluntary.  I have never taken a dime of any donations received.  I do this for the love of my dream and not for any other reason.

Stay tuned for future projects that are in the works!

I grew up surfing in Hawaii and I'm in college studying photography and photojournalism.  While in Nepal, I was working on a photo essay of our travels, documenting our struggles and our triumphs in exploring the region.

As of current, Jesse is finishing her schooling in Denver Colorado.  She now serves as an adviser for all projects that we undertake.
